Hey Peoria - Keep Ignoring the Iraq War, Our Soldiers and Our Government - repeat tv is over...
I have to admit - I am quite flabbergasted over the overall lack of constant coverage of the Iraq War and our soldiers in most all forms of information dissemination in the local area. This includes the local media, but especially local bloggers.
On the whole, when it comes to this topic, local bloggers have been extremely silent. I know war is rotten subject to discuss but it must be. Our country is asking a tremendous amount from its citizenry when it comes to war.
And I think it is fair to make the statement there has not been another local blogger out there who has posted more links to subjects involving the Iraq War than I. And this includes both positive troop stories and critical Bush Administration stories. I've even railed against the spineless Democrats who voted to give Bush the measures they did.
Each day it seems some new revelation is made about the Bush Administration and it's path to war and not only collectively are they ignored, but seemingly not even cared about in this area.
For example, here's a recent study of the media and it's coverage:
But what really, really pisses me off is the appearance of lethargy and outward signs of indifference toward this war from people.
These men and women are fighting on our behalf and no one seems to give a shit when it is pointed out to the Vice President the number of people who oppose this war are at 2/3rds and his reply is "So" or how people like him continue to cavalierly point out these soldiers are all "volunteers."
Well, you goddamned right they are all "volunteers" and that's what makes their service for this country and the citizens of this country even more important.
But hell, you'd sure be hard to figure that out in the local information circuit.

Here are the number of times, according to NEXIS, that various topics have been mentioned in the media over the past thirty days:
“Yoo and torture” - 102
“Mukasey and 9/11″ — 73
“Yoo and Fourth Amendment” — 16
“Obama and bowling” — 1,043
“Obama and Wright” — More than 3,000 (too many to be counted)
“Obama and patriotism” - 1,607

I used to rant and rave ... literally ... and my mental health began to suffer. I still post links and comments from time to time but I think most people who know me have already heard it over and over again. I have no excuse, but it does feel awfully frustrating after all these months and years to have all those heartfelt words fall on deaf ears. I fear nothing short of insurrection will change our corporate owned government and media.
SEE VIDEO and Help the antiwar efforts of Tomas Young and others, pas it on to others.
Promoting this film helps the antiwar movement. I interviewed Phil Donahue in this Representative Press Video, please help amplify his efforts and my efforts, get this video to others. It is important that good crowds show up at the theaters. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9 the movie is showing in NY and Donahue and the co-director will be there. Spread the word.
See VIDEO: See Body of War, Hear Body of War * Part 2
