So Disgusted.....
The Washington Post is reporting Congressional Democrats had been briefed on the use of simulated drowning and that House Leader Nancy Pelosi apparently did not register any sort of disgust or concern over the practice.
Of politicians present, two reportedly asked if the interrogators were being tough enough.
This article has filled me with disgust and anger toward Pelosi and Jane Harman and any Democrat that knew about this and was briefed on it and did nothing. Harman is apparently trying to fall back on a confidentiality oath she signed. To that, I say BULLSHIT!!
Anyone with half a brain, except for the King Boy George kool-aid drinkers and apologists out there, knows that simulated drowning is torture, as are other acts of "enhanced interrogation." And to fall back on explaining away one's need to keep their mouth shut because a form was signed, after becoming knowledgeable about criminal acts being carried out by the American government is inexcusable and spineless.
I'm certain there are caveats in these so-called secrecy agreements that allow for some sort of disclosure or acting being taken.
On a side note, with this topic one thing to watch is going to be of the distinction between progressives and conservatives when it comes to their politicians. If this story remains to be true and Pelosi and Harman did nothing, progressives will holler like hell about this garbage. On the other hand, watch what conservatives do toward the conservative politicians (Goss and Roberts) - conservatives will remain to play out all sorts of idiotic 24-like explanations, while at the same time will be excoriating the Democrats for knowing about this act in 2002.
