Obrien's First Annual Local Blog Awards

Well, here's something I've been working on for a bit. Of course, those bloggers included are only those that I know about and read on a regular basis. I certainly hope there are other bloggers out there and that they somehow let themselves be known and don't feel left out.

So, without further delay, let's begin:

Interesting Bloggers Who Don't Blog Frequent Enough

Polly Peoria
Krisser Prisser
Emtronics
Cruise Control
Common Sense Peoria
BJ Aberle's Blog
INTP
Angie's Drama

Bloggers Who Have Disappeared Without A Trace

P-Town Snarker
Give Me a Bouncy "C"
A Storm In the Port
Good Year For The Outlaw
Peoria Life

Best Visual Chronicler of Peoria

The Peoria Illinoisan and his website Name This Peoria Landmark

Blogger With the Thickest Skin

The Peoria Pundit. When it comes to opinion or point of view, he dishes it out like no other and takes it like no other and without changing either. It says a lot about a person who not only posts his picture for all to see, but is out there in the community where all sorts of darts can be thrown. And I've thrown a few myself.

Blogger Most Likely To Be Able To Start A Fist Fight in a Room Full of Nuns

Vonster

Blogger With The Best Smile

Krisser Prisser - Her smile could lighten up a dreary winter day during a full solar eclipse.

Blogger With Best Ability To Take A Complex Subject And Turn It Into An Interesting, Readable Entry With A Folksy Slant

No contest - Lollygaggin. And this is not to say she "dumbs" down complex topics at all. What she consistently does is take a complex topic and put a human and common sense touch on it and make people go, "hm, never thought of it that way."

Blogger Who Should Try A Posting After Having A Couple Glasses of Wine

Eyebrows McGee. This is not to say she is uptight at all, only that it'd be curious to read an entry where she metaphorically let's her hair down after a few glasses of wine.

Two Bloggers I'd Like to See in A Room Together

Willy Nilly and Vonster

Best Researched Local Blogs

Peoria Watch and The Peoria Chronicle

Blog Most Resembling A Mosquito

Vonster. Ever had a mosquito flying around in a room? You can hear it, dread it and what to desperately get it the hell out of there even though a mosquito is really just a tiny irritant.

Bloggers Who Would Probably Be The Most Fun To Have a Beer With

Scott Janz and Lollygaggin.

That is really weird. You have such insight into my life. Eating and Drinking. YES!!! Oh, and I will set up that poker game for you. I live with 3 women. I don't need to be there cause I could use the break/vacation. LOL Thanks for the nonimations.

Honorable mention? Hmmmm ... well, I guess it's good to be mentioned honorably.

Are prizes involved in this? Perhaps a statue of a guy masturbating at a computer screen? When's the award show? We can call it the Bloggies.

Well shoot ... Bill already coined the term "PeoBloggies." I thought I was being original. Damn.

LOL. Sorry, I "grew up" in newspaper column writing, so I guess that makes me a little less spontaneous than others. :D Very different format. I also made all of my spectacular "wow, should I not have published that" errors in college and learned my lessons then!

But I absolutely promise you I have blogged on more than one occasion with a little too much liquor in my system. ;)

Fun post, thanks for the mention-

If you're taking reservations for the next blogger bash, I'd rather attend the backyard crabfest instead of the long dinner, even though I'm not much a seafood guy.

And when you decide to have those beers with Scott Janz and Pammy, let me know.

Two bloggers I'd like to see in a room together: Scott O'Brien and Vonster. I'd even pay money for that matchup!

Here's a category for next year-
Peoria Bloggers with too much free time:

Angie,

This is so what I was afraid of. Certainly I'd love to have a beer with you. Think it would be great fun.

I decided that I just didn't have enough time/interest to continue Peoria Life. There are enough good blogs about Peoria that I would rather be lazy and read their blogs and comment on what I want.
